hormones for naturally clearer, and healthier skin.
Your skin is covered in small glands called sebaceous glands. They secrete an oil called sebum that helps lubricate your skin and keep it healthy. Within these glands are receptors that respond to hormones, and react according to factors like hormone levels.
Hormones are chemical messengers that are produced in organs such as the ovaries, adrenal glands, and thyroid. When there is too much or too little of a specific hormone being produced, your skin reacts accordingly. Hence, the health of these three glands is essential for healthy skin.
The hormones involved in promoting healthy skin are:
The good functioning of these hormones requires a well-functioning liver, a healthy digestive tract, and a healthy adrenal. Gosh does it always come down to these three things? to me, they are the key to overall wellness, not just skin. That is why I created herbal supplements to support all three.
Next week, I will cover the basics of a hormone-balancing diet. Remember, I'm always here to help. If you have any questions on skin issues or hormone balancing, shoot me an email at ContactToni@drToniCamacho.com and Click here to listen to this week's radio show.
Have a great week!
